Prof. Areg Danagoulian is an Assistant Professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT.

Prof. Danagoulian did his PhD research in Experimental Nuclear Physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After his PhD Prof. Danagoulian worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and then as a senior scientist at Passport Systems, Inc.. At PSI he developed a technique for rapidly detecting shielded nuclear materials in the commercial cargo traffic. At MIT Prof. Danagoulian's research areas include nuclear disarmament verification using nuclear resonances, and the use of nuclear reactions for high precision radiography in nuclear security applications.
